Membership Meetings
Meetings are held the 3 Monday of the month. Please try to attend & offer your voice & ideas. This is your club! Meet your fellow enthusiasts. Next meetings: 11/18, 12/16, 1/20 @ 7:30 pm. Come on an empty stomach, there is always a good meal afterwards. $1 beers!! 50/50 raffle!!
Fund Raiser: $5 Gun Raffle
- Our gun raffle drawing will be held at the upcoming 12/16 meeting. Please be sure to turn in both sold and unsold tickets on or before the December meeting.
- Prizes: Choice of one: Remington 700 SPS MOBU, your choice of caliber or $500 cash. A second and third prize of $50 and $25 will also be drawn.
- See Jim Bugenhagen @ the club if you have tickets to return or need tickets.
- We will only be selling 500 tickets.
- Remember each member is required to sell at least 2 tickets.

Election Day
Is Nov. 5th. Please make an effort to vote for those who will protect our 2nd amendment rights.
Mark your calendar
Our Annual Installation Dinner and Chinese Auction will be held January 18th, 2014. Please see Jim Bugenhagen for tickets. A nominal fee of $10 per person will cover your dinner and drinks.
Election results
Board members are as follows: President - Jim Bugenhagen, Secretary - Terri Plunkett, Treasurer - Isabelle Schmitt, Vice Presidents - Joe Jemiolo, Dave Brooks, Scott Klubek and Paul Rosiek.
Dues
Will be presented and available for payment at the upcoming July 15 meeting. Payment may be made that night and would save additional time and cost of mailing.
Trap League
The Fall Trap League ended Oct. 17 . Forty shooters participated including 3 ladies and 6 juniors. The Fall League party was held Oct. 20 with 41 attending and a great time was had by all. League hi gun: Mike Moran, League hi handicap: Dan Hoelscher, League hi lady: Joanne Mentlewski, League hi junior: Howie Hoelscher. Thanks to all of those that put the effort in to run the league. The WNY Winter League will shoot at BVCS on Sunday, Nov. 24th and Sunday, Dec. 1st. Any and all help will be well received. The Trap Committee has offered to fund the food to be prepared and sold by the 4-H Young Guns for this event. An early ‘thank you’ to the 4-H’ers.
Pistol
The Fall league has started in September on Thursday evenings. Three relays per night, 6 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm. See the schedule at the end of the newsletter.
Suburban Pistol
Has started on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. See schedule posted at the end of the newsletter.
Open Shooting
Tuesday nights; doors open @ 7pm. $3 for members and $5 for non-members. Bring a friend. Please be aware that non-members must fill out a one-time waiver. Forms are on hand at the range.
Air Pistol
We’ll be shooting Air Pistol on the second Monday of the month at 7pm and the fourth Monday at 7:30pm. The cost is $4 per night. If you would like to try Air Pistol and don’t have equipment or have questions call Jerry and Betty Dobson at 867-4814. For an additional $2 they can provide you with a loaner air pistol and pellets. It’s a lot of fun, good practice, and a pistol permit is not required. Air Pistol schedule: Nov. 11 7pm, Nov. 25 7:30 pm, Dec. 9 7pm, Jan. 13 7 pm, Jan 27th 7:30 pm, Feb. 10 7 pm, Feb. 24 7:30pm, Mar. 10 7pm, Mar. 24 7:30 pm, April 14 7 pm, April 28 7:30pm.
Young Guns
Meetings have resumed on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm. Young Guns is growing by leaps and bounds....it is closed to new membership for the rest of this year, but we will start a first come, first serve waiting list. We are always looking for more instructors. To become a 4-H certified instructor, you are required to attend a camp (usually the first weekend in June). Cost is $75, but Boston Valley Young Guns will pay the fee. Anyone interested, please call Howard @ 649-3432.
Sporter Rifle
Will resume next winter on Wednesday evenings when Suburban Pistol is over.
Free Pistol
- 60 shots for score but time is given for sighter shots
- Any 22 LR pistol with open sights is allowed
- Any questions in regards to Air Pistol or Free Pistol see Betty or Jerry Dobson or call 648-2205 or 867-4814 for more information
- FREE PISTOL: 4th Monday of each month at 6pm beginning November 25th. The remainder of the schedule is Jan. 27th, Feb. 24th, Mar. 24th, and Apr. 28th..

S.C.O.P.E.
Erie County SCOPE Chapter holds monthly meetings every 3rd Thursday of the month. Meetings begin at 7pm at ‘The Chicken Coop’, VFW Post 8113, 299 Lydecker Rd. in West Seneca. Located at the intersection where East & West Rd. ends at Lydecker.

The next Newsletter won’t be out until November, but since so much is going on in early fall, I am forwarding some updates and schedules.
Trap report from Ernie Miller:
As of 9/8, we are at the beginning of the 5th week of our fall trap league. There 42 shooters signed up as of this date. The 4-H group has 7 shooters which bodes well for our club & the future of the shooting sports.
The shooting times ; Sun. 9am - 12 noon & Thur. 6pm - 8pm are not limited to league shooters. These hours are also for open shooters - meaning - anybody can show their skills or try their luck at the targets!
Young Guns from Howard Hoelscher:

Betty and Jerry Dobson are again hosting a Pistol Permit Class for members, and friends and family of members on Sept. 28th from noon until 3:00 pm. Cost is an unbelievable $20. Call 867-4814 to register.
We have a meeting coming up next Monday Sept 16th at 7:30 pm. Anyone interested in helping the club by volunteering to be a candidate for an officer should attend. As always, $5 gun raffle tickets will be available. See you there.

New York State Pistol Safety Course
Will be held by Betty and Jerry Dobson on April 27th. Members and friends of BVCS may contact the Dobsons at 648-2205 or 867-4814 for more information and to register.
Trap League
Spring Trap League is under way and will run through May 23rd.
Pistol
Winter Pistol League has finished. Thankyou to all of those who participated. Stay tuned for more information regarding the Fall League. Cliff's time and effort to run the leage is greatly appreciated.
Suburban Pistol
Has finished with Boston Valley retaining the first place trophy. Anyone interested in attending the Suburban Pistol League banquet can see Jim Bugenhagen for tickets. It will be held Saturday, May 4th at Kotecki's banquet facility. The cost is $25.
