About Us

Established in 1920 as the Boston Rod and Gun Club, the organization was renamed the Boston Valley Conservation Society (BVCS) in 1931 and was incorporated in 1939. BVCS was organized to further conservation in the Township of Boston, NY and for the pleasure and recreation of its members and fellow sportsmen.

BVCS is a private, members-only gun club. Visitor shooters are welcome, but must be accompanied by a member (see our Contacts page for member contact information for the desired shooting program). Beginner and/or experienced shooters are encouraged to join our gun club community (see our Membership page for instructions and membership application). The club currently offers a full range of shooting sports, including ATA regulation trap shooting, an outdoor rifle range and an indoor pistol range (see our Programs page to learn more).

BVCS is formed as a not-for-profit organization. We are funded by membership dues, match fees, small user charges (i.e., trap/pistol league fees) and by yearly raffle and lottery calendar fund-raisers.

Member meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month beginning at 7:30 pm.

Our Mission

The principal mission of the club is to stimulate good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance, which are the essentials of good sportsmanship, while assuring all members and their invited guests a quality, safe and friendly venue to practice, promote and develop safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improving marksmanship.
