Pistol Winter League

Dear pistol shooters,

I am planning on starting the winter league January 27, 2022. The first relay begins at 6pm, a second starting at 7pm and a third relay starting at 8pm.

Tuesday will be open shooting only with Thursday reserved for league shooting.

Each week two national matches per relay will be shot for score at the 25 yard line. You can shoot one gun (22 CAL.) or two guns (22 CAL. and C.F.) for a score each week.

Come out, have fun and shoot the league. It will be great to see you again. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (716) 337-3555 or e-mail cwfjr45@gmail.com.

Trap

The Fall Trap League is in the 9th week with 43 paid shooters. The trap party will be held October 24th starting at 11 am & lasting till???? Hopefully a good time will be had by all. In the meantime, the Hamburg team, once again, leads the league in wins. This seems to be a regular occurrence, but success come to those that are the better.

In the number of shooters previously mentioned; 43, 40 are men & 3 ladies. It seems we lack any youthful shooters! I find this difficult since there is an abundance of Young Guns participating in their programs as youth members of BVCS. This has been an ongoing situation that young shooters never seem to gravitate to the BVCS Leagues. If youths came out to shoot leagues, I'm sure instruction & discounted shooting could be incorporated in the program. Maybe Spring?

We have not heard much about the WNY Winter League coming to BVCS. This would be about the last week of November & the 1st week of December if we host this league. If not hosting the WNY League, shooting will be discontinued until the Spring League starts in March or April of 2022 at the conclusion of our Fall League.

As always, I would like to thank the trap volunteers for their hard work & dedication. Also, thanks to the BVCS Board for support.

What's Happening @ Your Club?

Hello everyone, Pancho

It seems as though this Pandemic that we’ve overcome has left it’s mark on a lot of things. Prayer’s and Thoughts for all that where affected by it. As far as our club it affected some of the things we enjoyed.

To date, Our Air Rifle and pistol league as well as the 22 rifle league will be in need of someone to take over, if we want to continue this. Betty Dobson has done a wonderful job, along those who have helped Her running this league for sometime now, however she has to decided to step down.

Our Bullseye League is also another one that’s been affected. Both Cliff Faulring and Jim Bugenhagen and others that have helped with this league have not been able to resume, so far. It might change at a later date, but for now it’s not happening.

On the brighter side our Trap League, run by Ernie Miller and others has been in full swing. Please pay attention for the next e-mail concerning delivery, we will need all hands on deck. Our open shoot on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm has been running thanks to Mike Spoors.

Although a little light also, our last meeting was well attended, however not the way it has been in the past. All this said we are in need of continued support of our fundraisers. Raffle Tickets, Calendar Tickets and any other fundraising we can come up with. We need ideas. We’ve had to change insurance carriers, plus our usual expenses. Our next meeting is Monday July 19th at 7:30. Attend to find out what’s going on with YOUR CLUB.

Respectfully, Pancho

Trap

Open Trap July 2nd Thursday only 6-8

6 week Doubles July 9th - August 13th, Thursday Only

10 week Fall League: Sunday’s 9-12, Thursday 6-8, August 16th - Oct 22nd

At this time, we are into the 4th wee of 6 in the doubles league. Not a bad turnout considering lack of ammunition & components for making the same. After the doubles are finished, August 5th, 1 week of open shooting August 12th will be available & the 10 week Fall Trap league will start on Sunday, August 15th. The usual shooting times; Sundays, 9am - 12 noon & Thursdays, 6pm - 8pm are still in effect. As always practice, new & league shooter are welcome to participate.

July 9th, I sent a notice hoping the targets will get delivered & would be asking for help once again. Well, back to the future; as of this writing, hopefully the targets are here & I can thank those that helped in the unloading.

Thank you to the trap volunteers & the BVCS board for their continued support.

Trap person: Ernie

UPDATE: The delivery of targets is scheduled for Thursday at 4:30pm. Once again; ANY & ALL HELP is greatly appreciated.

What's Happening @ Your Club?

Open Pistol Shooting

Tuesday’s open shoot is reserved for members only under COVID-19. Please follow CDC Protocols by wearing face mask and following instructions of the Range Officer. Social Distancing both on range and the waiting room.

Tuesday nights; doors open @ 7pm. Members’ range fee is $4.

Trap

As of this writing, we are into the 2nd week of the BVCS Spring League. A guesstimate for how many shooters we may have is in the area of 55 - 60. This would be 15 - 20 above average for the last number of leagues at our club. Either we are doing something right or shooters are looking for release of frustration from the pandemic.

Once again, weather has been a factor for us. The 1st day of the league it rained. 2nd day, a Thursday, it snowed! No shooting for Easter Sunday & the next Thursday was salubrious with rain forecasted for Sunday the 11th.

I have spoken with a distributor for targets & shooting supplies. Target deliveries are into June & supplies are VERY limited. I await word of cost & delivery dates for our targets. Date & times to follow when available. Help will be needed to unload targets when delivered. Should be 756 cases.

I, again would like to thank the trap volunteers for all the effort put forth to keep our well oiled machine moving. Also, thanks to the BVCS Board for their support.

Trap person;

Ernie
